Maruti Suzuki is preparing to unveil multiple cars for the Indian market. The 2022 Brezza, the new New Baleno, and the new Alto K10 have already been introduced by the company this year. The company will announce the costs for the recently launched Grand Vitara SUV in the coming days. In addition to this, the company is getting ready to introduce a new SUV coupe. Maruti YTB is the codename for this upcoming SUV coupe.
The forthcoming Maruti Suzuki SUV coupe will reportedly be known as the Maruti Baleno Cross. This SUV has already been spotted during testing prior to release. Here, we highlight five unique features of this future SUV.
Maruti Baleno Cross: Design and Interior
The Futuro-e concept car from the 2020 Auto Expo will be realised as the new Baleno Cross. The 3-block Nexa Signature will be located at the top of the bonnet and will have a split headlamp setup with sleek LED DRLs on the front fascia of the Baleno Cross. It will have alloy wheels that resemble Baleno models.
Features of Maruti Baleno Cross
The brand new car would resemble the Maruti Baleno hatchback not just in terms of design but also in terms of cabin and features. Suzuki Connect, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice controls will all be included. In addition to these features, the car will also have an automated air conditioner, a multifunctional steering wheel, a digital console, a rear AC vent, and many more.
Engine of Maruti Baleno Cross
Maruti Suzuki will reintroduce the Boosterjet (turbocharged) petrol engine with the future Baleno Cross. The 1.0L Boosterjet engine was used to launch the Baleno RS in 2018. However, this powertrain was discontinued because of low sales and BS6 emission standards.
The company has now chosen to reintroduce the Boosterjet petrol engine in the new Baleno Cross. This will be a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol car with a maximum torque of 150 Nm and 102 bhp. The engine can also be provided with a mild hybrid system in addition to this. It can be ordered with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox.
In addition, the 1.2-liter naturally-aspirated petrol engine that drives the Baleno will also be added to the Baleno Cross SUV. This Dualjet petrol engine produces a maximum torque of 113Nm and 89bhp.
When will the Maruti Baleno Cross be launched?
The Maruti Baleno Cross is scheduled to be launched in January 2023 at the Auto Expo. Although the new model’s precise debut date has not yet been made public, sources suggest it could start selling in February 2023.
Maruti Baleno Cross Competition
The Nexa premium dealership network will be used to market and sell the new Baleno Cross. After launch, it will face opposition from the Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Honda WR-V.
